In this time of pandemic and economic upheaval many of us feel lonely and upset. Instead of the normal life we knew before Covid, we find ourselves in a sort of desert both unfamiliar and frightening. Yet God is present in the desert, longing to lift us up “on wings like eagles” (Isaiah 40:31). We have only to open our hearts to him in prayer, and he is there.
