This Sunday, the Gospel story describes the Christ’s ascension to heaven leaving his disciples - all of us in reality - to seek the power of the Holy Spirit in ou rlives, as we work to create a world of peace and justice for all. It’s difficult work, and we’re reminded of that - this Sunday especially - on the weekend set aside to honor those who gave their lives for this nation in war. The gap between peace and war is a narrow one, but we are called by our Creator, Christ and Holy Spirit, to make room there for ourselves and for all humankind.
