It’s Mothers’ Day - a time to celebrate our moms, but also a time to imagine that the God we worship is both Mother and Father to us all. It sounds radical, but it has theological routes, going all the way back to God’s first encounter with Moses on Mount Sinai. We need to reclaim an image of God that’s either gender neutral or feminine for the good of our spirituality and worship. Happy Mother’s Day; She is who She is!
