Synopsis: On this second Sunday of Advent we light the candle for peace, but we are a long way from that elusive goal.  In scripture we hear from John the Baptist, his mother Elizabeth and her cousin Mary the mother of Jesus.  All of them were considered outcasts in their time, but their message of peace and justice for all resonates through time and from the voices of women from our day.  Maybe we should be listening to those most consider lowly.
